Background

Beyond taxes, Andrew R. Farber specializes in planning, organizing, and managing financial systems. His goal is to make technology work for the users. Andy deployed automated and manual systems to maximize utility, minimize duplication, ensure that transactions are recorded securely and information is disseminated effectively in a timely and effective manner.

Background

Andy has worked for a variety of different organizations, including the City of New York, the accounting firm Peat Marwick Mitchell (now KPMG), and a local consulting firm, SMA Management Systems. He most recently retired after 28 years from Consumer Reports, where he was the Associate Director for Financial Systems. He is an adjunct professor on the faculty of the Production Management Department of Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT/SUNY).

Education

Andy graduated from Columbia College with a BA in Computing Science, and Columbia Graduate School of Business with an MBA in accounting.

Personal

Andy is married to Rabbi Joan Glazer Farber and has three children, Miriam, Adam, and Yael. His greatest joy is being "Gpa" to his two grandsons.
